What's so good about The Chosen?

Well, I find that the author had caught my eye with how he describes certain aspects of a character. When reading the story I find a clear understanding of what the author is talking about. He stays on a topic the whole way through and doesn't switch from one subject to another. The author has a moral lesson in the second chapter never take your body for gran it. The author made the main character step into somebody else's shoes to get a perspective of how they feel because there blind or has one messed up eye.
