The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs

The Monkey's paw i s not a claw that creates horrible things. It is the people that makes the horrible things happen to them, because they are fillled with greed. The first thing the main character ,Mr.White, asked for was money, so the claw gave him money, but also took away someone he loved to teach a lesson. The claw is not intirely bad, it teaches a lesson, which is people should not be filled with greed when they have money.
